The flight left late and because it was a short flight there was no first class amenities. The flight crew was fine, but it sure did not feel like first class. Delta to me dropped the ball by giving me a connecting flight. By the time we got to Raleigh we would have missed the next flight. Lucky for me the flight never came so now I was stuck waiting for a later flight that came in late also.

Good movie variety, so limited tv was okay. For American I always have to connect from the end of terminal E to the end of terminal B and the stupid moving walkways are always broken. And the flights to all seem of least importance so they never leave on time in either direction. I suspect i caught flu on this flight as i could hear someone coughing a few rows back and ended up with flu a few days later.

The flight was delayed 6 hours and we were only offered an $8 food credit. My husband stood in line to get the credit for 45 minutes and when he got close to the end of the line the computers went down. The net issue I had was with the gate agent. We had added a carryon to our boarding pass when we checked bags. When I got to the boarding gate the agent was rude asking why I had a backpack - I said I added it - even had an orange tag on it.

She ripped my tag off and swung her monitor around to show me how she was right- saying it isn’t wasn’t listed - only a checked bag. I explained again that I wasn’t sure what the issue was but I wouldn’t have an orange tag if I hadn’t added it. Then she finally checked my husband’s boarding pass and found that the agent at checkin had added my carryon to his boarding pass instead of mine. She sent me on my way without my orange tag. Was a bit embarrassing for me the tone she used with me assuming I was trying to get away with something.

The stewardess on the flight that made the announcements she didn’t even know what she was talking about she sounded inebriated. While Frank remains comatose, Donald Blythe is sworn in as Acting President of the United States. Blythe is indecisive during a military crisis involving Russia, and turns to Claire for guidance. Claire goes against Frank's wishes by convincing Blythe to involve China and secure a meeting with Petrov, where she brokers an ambitious peace deal.
Date of death:
We later learn that he is even willing to kill those who become a threat, as shown through his murder of Peter Russo after he threatened to expose Underwood along with himself and Zoe Barnes when she realises that Underwood murdered Russo. He is a more than capable political maneuverer and can act warm, jolly and caring to people to gain their trust. He has no qualms of killing people or ruining their lives and careers if it serves his goals.
Episodes
The Underwoods convince Doug to take the fall for killing Zoe, and the leaker is revealed to be Frank himself. The leaks are revealed to be part of Frank's master plan to resign the presidency to Claire, believing his thirst for power can be better achieved in the private sector, working alongside his wife's presidency. Frank, concerned about Secretary Durant's intention to testify at the impeachment hearing, pushes her down a short flight of stairs upon accepting her resignation, hospitalizing her.
Presidency of Frank Underwood
In reality, Underwood begins an elaborate plan behind the President's back. Frank's wife Claire runs an NGO, the Clean Water Initiative, which she uses to cultivate her own power; she seeks to expand its scope to the international stage, often using Frank's connections. Claire shares her husband's cold-hearted, ruthless pragmatism and lust for power, and they frequently scheme together to ensure the success of each other's ventures. They both work with Remy Danton, a corporate lobbyist and former Underwood staffer, to secure funds for their operations and expand their influence. In 2017, following allegations of sexual misconduct against Spacey, Netflix terminated their relationship with the actor.
With the special election in chaos, Underwood convinces the Vice President to step down and run for his old position of governor – leaving the Vice Presidency open to Underwood, as was his plan all along. Underwood is introduced to Missouri billionaire Raymond Tusk, Walker's friend and advisor. Underwood counter-proposes to Tusk that they work together to fulfill both their interests, which Tusk accepts.

After pulling strings with superdelegates, the votes stack up with Claire. Catherine Durant announces that she is withdrawing at the stage, and encourages the delegates to vote for Claire. Claire becomes the nominee for the vice president.During the DNC voting, Conway calls Underwood out for his failure to act on the terrorist group ICO. The private meeting results in no change of policy, but instead a tense conversation. Conway reminds Underwood he is behind in the polls by double digits and says that Underwood is desperate to win.
"We knew that we wanted the end to feel surprising but inevitable," Gibson says. One of the beautiful things about the direct address [in which Underwood faces the camera and does a soliloquy], which is something we outright stole from the BBC version, which they stole from Shakespeare ... It gives us access to [Underwood] in ways that the public can never have access to. With her new Cabinet in place, Claire decides to undertake a new, progressive, agenda. The Shepherds, meanwhile, continue to plot her downfall, enlisting the help of Brett Cole, an ambitious Congressman who seeks to become Speaker of the House.
Season 1 (
Underwood was elected at the age of 25 to the South Carolina State Senate as one of the youngest members in the state's legislative history after graduating from Harvard in 1984. He was re-elected to the state senate at 29 in 1988 for his second, and last, term as a State Senator. We’ve seen Frank spend so much time with his right-hand man Doug Stamper in the Capitol that we can’t imagine not visiting The Hill. There are plenty of tours you can take where all the wheeling and dealing goes down. You can sign up to take a tour of Congressman or Senator’s offices, or one of the entire Capitol itself.
Forget Right And Wrong: 'House Of Cards' Is About Pragmatism And Power
Underwood goes to the Jordan valley to meet with Petrov months later, and Petrov agrees to relinquish control of the Jordan Valley if Claire steps down as ambassador to the United Nations. Claire ultimately steps down, though this strains the relationship between Claire and Underwood. Despite urging from Claire to read a forged apology, Corrigan hung himself in his jail cell, prompting Claire to publicly shame Petrov. Either way, after the debate Underwood takes charge and garners support when a child dies during school hours. He arranged a meeting with Spinella to come to a compromise which Underwood had promised.
In his senior year, his grades suffered when he volunteered for a U.S. Senate campaign in the fall 1980 and was nearly expelled from the military college. Despite his poor grades, Underwood was accepted and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1984. He had a sexual and romantic relationship while in military college with another cadet, Tim Corbet. His father was a peach farmer in Gaffney, South Carolina, who died of a heart attack at the age of 43. Underwood has stated that he and his father had nothing in common whatsoever, and upon his father's death, he felt neither regret nor remorse.
After Underwood secures an open spot in the Pennsylvania Governorship race by killing Peter Russo, he begins to influence the Vice President Jim Matthews to run. Previously, he had gotten Jim Matthews to campaign with Peter Russo, where he (the Vice President) was reintroduced to the love and adulation of a constituency that loved him. This reminded the Vice President of his glory days as a politician, the glory days that had not continued in his Vice Presidency.
And politicians, since the beginning of politics, have found ways to manipulate those stories — and here we just get access to the manipulation. After Frank begins his vice presidential duties, Claire becomes close with the First Lady and learns Walker's marriage is strained. He meets Xander Feng, a Chinese businessman and ally of Tusk's, to engage in back-channel negotiations that Frank intentionally scuttles at the expense of Tusk's credibility.

Done mainly through back channels with Democratic governors, this is officially done in the name of safety, but in practice disenfranchises rural Republican voters. To keep the strategy of fear going, Doug blackmails hacker Aidan Macallan into launching a massive cyberattack on the NSA, slowing down Internet traffic and wiping out hundreds of thousands of files. On Election Day, the result hinges on Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Ohio. Underwood's political machine stages a terrorist attack in Knoxville, Tennessee, which is pinned on a local suspected ICO sympathizer.
The day after Underwood's Iowa victory, Claire says that she is leaving Underwood, and flies to Texas to stay with her mother. Underwood, while in New Hampshire, continues his campaign under much stress without Claire. She pulls a piece of the broken mirror and stabs Underwood in the gut.
Once Usher begins working for them, they release the tapes anyway, which costs Conway the election. Underwood is now President-elect, but his past once again comes back to haunt him when Hammerschmidt writes a story linking him to Barnes' death. The presidency is finally set to be decided by a contingent election in the House. Neither Underwood nor Conway receive enough votes, however, so Underwood appoints Claire acting president until the House votes again. Underwood tries to convince Arizona Congressman Alex Romero (James Martinez) to vote in his favor, but when Underwood refuses to help him with his own agenda, Romero forms a committee to impeach him. In the days before the election, Underwood pushes Congress to formally declare war on ICO, and orders the CIA to kill one of the terrorists and make it look like he had died fleeing capture.
According to series producer Beau Willimon, the change in last name stemmed from the "Dickensian" feeling and "more legitimately American" sounding resonance of the name 'Underwood'. Whereas Urquhart is an aristocrat by birth, Underwood is a self-made man, having been born into a poor Southern family with an alcoholic father. Urquhart was one of television's first antiheroes, whereas Underwood follows the more recent rash of antiheroes that includes Tony Soprano of The Sopranos, Walter White of Breaking Bad, and Dexter Morgan of Dexter. However, unlike most other antiheroes, Underwood is not forced into immorality either by circumstance (White), birth (Soprano) or upbringing (Morgan). Unlike the right wing Urquhart, who leads the Conservative Party, Underwood is a member of the Democratic Party, but cares little for ideology in favor of "ruthless pragmatism" in furthering his own political influence and power. Spacey has received positive reviews for his portrayal of Underwood, but the character itself has been criticized for its repetitive nature and one-dimensionality.

For context, The Cessna 182 has a range of about 930 nm, this is roughly the distance between New York and Florida. In contrast, the Cessna 172 may have to take a fuel stop which depending on your needs could be a lot of wasted time. We try to put the facts down so that you will understand which aircraft is best for your needs.
Cessna 182 Guide and Specs : Pricing and Performance
Skylanes had always been popular airplanes in any configuration, but the market was turning downhill in the early 1980s, and Cessna, Piper, and Beech all scaled back production to meet diminishing demand. I was delivering airplanes to Europe and Africa at the time, and I still remember how much I liked the retractable gear. Retractable gear was the final improvement that made the 182 RG a standout design in those heady days. The 182RG was stable, didn’t object to being flown 25 percent of gross (with a ferry permit, of course), and handled nearly as well as a 182 at normal weights.
Landing distance over 50-ft obstacle
In the center console, you will see that there is only a throttle and a mixture for adjustment. The aircrafts best climb rate is 1030 fpm for the lighter 1959 Cessna 182A, dipping to 865 fpm with the Cessna 182R and picking up again to 925 fpm with the turbocharged T182T. Like other Cessna piston-engined aircraft, the parts commonality between models and ease of maintenance have made it a very comfortable plane to own. Most shops in the world stock replacement parts for the Cessna 182, and mechanics are deeply familiar with them, making maintenance a breeze by most standards. For aircraft equipped with the early Continental O-470 engine, the time between overhaul is set at 1500 hours.
Overall, Skylane's handling is forgiving enough to make up for the nose-heavy short fallings. The ease of its cruise is a gift for pilots that just want to get in the air and enjoy the scenery below them and out front. A Skylane’s takeoff distance is around 1500 ft with a ground roll of just under 800 ft. Its flight ceiling is about 18,000 ft, making it a high-flier in comparison to most of its competition. It can clear a 50 ft obstacle at around 1100 feet but should be given some breadth on that metric to be safe. Like all the Skylanes that went before it, the Turbo Skylane RG is magnificently mediocre.
What is the cruise speed of Cessna 182 Skylane?
First, we must preface that these specifications are not unique to all variants or models of the Cessna 172. A popular party trick of the Cessna 182 is its roughly identical take-off and landing requirements. Many owners have reported this figure to be a little on the optimistic side.
The 182 is faster than the 172, offering more complexity and increased weight and balance specs. The Cessna 172 is considered by many as the most successful aircraft in history. Developed by Cessna, the aircraft took its maiden flight on June 12th, 1955. Many aviators started with the 172 which is probably why you are looking to explore or purchase. The company and partners have built more than 50,000 units and it still remains in production today.
The result would have been substantial design and certification expense. As a result, the finished airplane was rated for only 235 hp, a mere 5 hp more than the original Skylane. I fly a Cessna 172N, which comes with a POH with lots of information. One of the more useful tables is the Cruise Performance table shown below (Figure 1).
A push-to-reset circuit breaker controls the connection of the primary bus to the avionics bus. The 182 is used by a multitude of civil operators, cadet organizations, and flight schools worldwide. We have created this guide to help you specifically with Smaller Single Engine or Multi-Engine aircraft financing. One of the most universal questions to ask is what are your budget parameters. This can be a huge determining factor when choosing between the Cessna 182 and the Cessna 172.
Boss 182 Standard Configuration Includes:
At around 75% power or around cruise, the aircraft burns at a rate of 8.5 gallons per hour. This can also be extended with various auxiliary fuel tank options available in the Cessna line. Like most Cessna in its class the 172 generally features a Lycoming engine, four cylinder, horizontally opposed aircraft engine.
The chart gives the fuel flow rate and true airspeed for various combinations of pressure altitude, temperature, and engine percent power. Unfortunately, the table only provides data at the max gross weight of 2300 lbs. The Supplemental Airplane Flight Manual has a Cruise Performance table similar to the one provided in the original POH, but it does not include cruise airspeeds! Furthermore, I often fly around at gross weights less than 1900 lbs. What will be the impact on airspeed and fuel consumption with the higher horsepower engine at reduced gross weights? In this post, I show how to make cruise performance charts for any weight or altitude, and how to estimate the performance of the modified aircraft with the 180 hp engine.
Most notorious is the heavy elevator feel, something youd expect pulling back on a DC-3 yoke. Dont try to land power-off with full flaps; the timing of the roundout and flare will be so critical as to invite a hit or a drop. Watch out especially for forward-CG landings, with full fuel and only two aboard in the front seats. And before buying a used Skylane RG, check the logs, gear and the firewall carefully for evidence of damage.
That big box of a cabin, however, flexes and the door and windshield fit can get sloppy over the years. The original seats are okay except for their cheesy plastic and fabric. They are adjustable in height and seatback angle with lots of parts and pieces. Watch out for broken adjusters as well as worn seat tracks, the subject of a well-known AD affecting many Cessna singles.
Low-speed handling was improved in 1972 with the use of leading-edge cuffs on the wings. Shortly before the 1986 production break, Cessna began offering the turbocharged Skylane in 1981, with a 235 hp Lycoming IO-540 engine. The Skylane’s cruise speeds range from 136 to 140 KCAS depending on the model, while do not exceed speeds grew from 160 to 171 KCAS over the years.
To help with ground stability, the 182D in 1961 shortened the landing gear legs. The Cessna 182 is based on the 172 however the most attractive appeal is that it comes in a much larger size variant. The 182 comes in with a length of 29 ft (8.84 m) and a height of 9 ft 4 in (2.84 m). The wingspan is 36 ft (10.97 m) which is the same as the Cessna 172. On each strut, there are foot mounts for easy access enabling pilots to refuel with ease. If the crew has to cut a flight short with a full tank of fuel and two large people alone in the front seats, there is a risk that elevator authority will not be sufficient during landing.
Whether you've hired professional cross-country movers to deliver your possessions or you plan to use a one-way rental, RV moving can help your relocation run smoothly. In the end, we’d say that those who want to quickly rent an RV may want to go for Cruise America since it has an established policy that is designed to ensure hassle-free rentals. But if you want flexibility and don’t mind spending a lot of time finding the right RV, you’d want to go for a peer-to-peer platform.

This will prevent the tanks and pipes from freezing and bursting. If you chose to have your rental motorhome “de-winterized” (so that you can use your sink, shower, and toilet) it may cost up to $60. You will need to exercise extreme care while traveling in a “de-winterized” motorhome during frigid weather. If the pipes or tanks were damaged from freezing, it is considered negligent damage and you will be responsible for the full cost of all repairs. If you have any more questions on the rental policies during winter, please contact the rental center where your trip would originate. Cruise America from time to time offers rental deals and discounts.

What if the motorhome breaks down?
In addition, keep in mind that Sunday departures/returns aren’t allowed. Keep in mind that the generator is not required for normal RV operation, so you don’t have to operate it while traveling. A generator will be required only if you decide to run the RV electrical appliances while on the road.
Alternatively, Cruise America may directly pay for the repairs. Aside from the charges we’ve described above, there are certain penalties that borrowers will need to pay should they fail to comply with the rental terms. The Early Bird Departure Special needs to be reserved at least 30 days in advance and prepaid.

Bottom line, if you’re expecting five star service, this probably isn’t the place. Considering that shore excursion prices may vary by sailing, it is advisable to check updates and specific cruises. Disney is the only cruise line that keeps the Discover Atlantis Tour and Beach Day cruise excursion - a 6-hour tour priced at $98.00 (ages 10, and up), and $83.00 (ages 4 to 9). The Shore Excursions Group offers a smiliar but shorter tour entitled Discover Nassau Town and Atlantis.
Switcha, which many locals consider the official Bahamian drink, blends lemons and limes to concoct a powerful accompaniment to dessert or a refreshing beverage on a hot sunny day. You can choose to just enjoy any of the Dolphin Interactions or have this combined with the rest of the day at the beach.

If you are planning or have been on a cruise, then you are probably aware that one of the major stops for many Caribbean cruises is Nassau in the Bahamas. We were fortunate enough to go on another cruise that stopped in the Bahamas on our recent trip, and one thing I overheard was that there isn’t a whole lot to do in Nassau for kids. I might have agreed with that sentiment prior to this trip, but one surefire thing to do that kids will enjoy is visiting Atlantis.
Royal Towers (East and West) – The Royal Towers are the classic pink towers with the connecting bridge that you know from pictures. This is where you’ll find the casino, most of restaurants and nighttime venues, and it’s the hotel with the most convenient access to the water park. The majority of rooms were recently renovated in 2022 and 2023. Coral Tower – The Coral Tower is the most value oriented option available on the property. It’s close to the restaurants and shops found in the Royal Towers and Marina Village.
For families and couples alike, the Atlantis The Palm resort experience is unsurpassed on Dubai holidays. From lovely water parks and marine exhibits to exclusive swimming pools, elite golf resorts, and relaxing spa treatments, there are many more things to do at Atlantics. But we probably will explore some other beach resorts before we make a return trip or stick to simply visiting on a day pass when we cruise through the Bahamas again.
The kitchenette area had a mini fridge, a cooktop, and a microwave. Very convenient for preparing a quick meal or snack for hungry kids. And the bathroom was huge, with double sinks, a separate shower, and a giant soaking tub. Enjoy a spectacular day at the beachfront Pirate’s Cove doing most anything you please.
But there is a small patio area that you can sit in for free – which is not close enough to take any decent pictures. Dolphin Cay is where Atlantis run all of their interactive programs with the resident dolphins and other marine life. We’ve actually been to the facility a few times now, and I am always impressed. The trainers genuinely seem to love their jobs and take great care of the animals. This is definitely one of the very best things to do at Atlantis. There is a really great pool and water play area for younger kids called Poseidon’s Playground.
The one big disappointment here was that the water park attractions and all the pools closed at 5pm. I expected the water slides to close up at sunset, but not the pools. If you arrive at Atlantis on a cruise ship, you can easily grab a water taxi across to Paradise Island or just hop in a regular cab.
Everything here is so yummy, and the staff is super friendly, too. Golf lovers are ready to step into the mesmerizing golf course of Atlantis Bahamas. With a beautiful Atlantic Ocean view, I think this golf course is among the best in the Caribbean. There is also a Golf shop form where you can rent out Golf accessories. There are over 250 marine species underwater; you can see all this through 100-foot-long underwater tunnels.

Even more than that, when that cruise ship docks, you’ll be getting in your steps, too. How do I pack a week's worth of everything into a carry on suitcase with room to spare? This is something I carry with me anytime I travel internationally, and especially when I cruise. It's much easier to carry a lightweight backpack than it is to roll a suitcase around the ship until we can put things in our cabin safe or unpack.
A few of my absolute-do-not-cruise-without-them items include:

My luggage gets delivered straight to my cabin, and I have always been lucky enough to have it before I change for dinner the first night. Your cases should be large enough to carry everything you need, but not so big or heavy as to be difficult to lug through the cruise terminal. You will also have a limited amount of space in your cabin, so don’t go mad with oversized cases as you will have nowhere to put them.
Important Items
Always check the cruise line’s prohibited items list. While daytime dining is usually casual, evening meals, especially in the main dining room, might have a dress code ranging from smart casual to formal. Always check your cruise line’s specific guidelines. Many modern cruise ships offer self-service laundromats or paid laundry services. Check with your specific cruise line to know what’s available.

My husband usually wears golf attire (polo and pants), and my daughters and I wear casual dresses for dinner in the dining room.
You may not need everything on this list, but all are items worth considering. While you will get some basic toiletries provided in your cabin, it’s often not adequate quality or quantity for me personally so I like to bring my own. I recommend decanting your own shampoo and conditioner into travel bottles. Use a hanging toiletries bag for your bathroom essentials.
This can be a great money saver or is nice if you have a specific beverage you really love. Tip - For some reason, travel sized products can be pricey despite their size. Reusable travel bottles are a good solution, especially if you don’t need a large quantity of product. Whether it is a beach day, bicycle tour, or snorkeling, there are a few things you should probably include for your port days. If you are bringing on wine or champagne, this will also need to be packed in your carry-on.
Especially if you’re traveling on a cruise with kids! Speaking of comfy shoes and water shoes, you probably packed more shoes than you needed for this cruise! That is why I highly recommend bringing a shoe organizer for the cabin door. When you’re on a giant cruise ship for days on end, there’s a good chance that you’ll be soaking up plenty of rays. Don’t forget sunscreen because you’ll want to protect your skin. So many of the cruise ships are set for international travel and the electric outlets more than likely won’t work for any of your electronics.

Unlike their Danube river cruise counterparts, Rhine cruises offer a voyage through the beating heart of Europe, a core where history and culture collide in a spectacular display. KD has the largest number of departures by far of all Rhine pleasure boat lines. This allows passengers to make more stops en route if desired — remember to indicate all planned stops when buying tickets as separate tickets are issued for each leg of the cruise. One of the smaller Rhine River cruise destinations is the delightful German wine-making town of Rudesheim. You can walk or take a land train to bustling Drosselgasse street where cozy bars serve local riesling and Rudesheimer coffee made with cream and brandy. One of the more unusual local Rudesheim attractions is Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum, where exhibits range from tiny music boxes to fairground organs.

Popular Cruise Ships
Day-trip cruises on the Rhine River are very popular in Germany with departures available from many cities and even small towns on the Rhine. Reservations are often not possible for regular day cruises but it is worth planning a bit in advance to take advantage of savings deals to get the best value (and finest views) from a cruise. European river cruises are especially popular around the holiday season when Christmas markets are in business. Sailing between Amsterdam and Basel, the ship stops in France (at Strasbourg) and Germany (at Mannheim, Rüdesheim, and Cologne) en route. Note that itineraries are suggested for kids ages eight and up, and a minimum age of four years old applies.
Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland (
The journey begins in Amsterdam, where guests are invited to take a river canal tour or visit the nearby towns of Alkmaar and Schermerhorn, home to windmills that date back to the 16th century. Then the ship will wind its way through Cologne, Rüdesheim, Würzburg, and Bamberg before finally ending in Nuremberg. There are plenty of places in each port to soak up the festive European atmosphere, while making time to pick up a Christmas-themed trinket or two in either Amsterdam or Cologne, Germany. In 2022, the Rhine River experienced one of the worst droughts in recent history—some parts of the river in Germany dropped to below 16 inches of water in key navigational areas.
